🥟 Chao-Down #356 Mistral takes on Meta with new open-source model release, FTC investigates AI-powered surveillance pricing, Data for AI training is disappearing fast
Plus, EU regulation puts the Europe at risk of missing out on AI advancements
Not to be outdone by Meta claiming all the open-source AI glory, the French startup Mistral also released their own Mistral Large 2 model claiming it to be “large enough” for many practical AI applications.
Based off the benchmarks, the model looks to be competitive across various tasks like code generation and math reasoning, all while fitting in a more compact size of 123 billion parameters.
But with so many models coming out each week, how is anybody supposed to keep up?
